Orion,

This is a 64-bit bug, but we can give you a 32-bit ctrans to try:

   ftp ftp.ucar.edu
[Enter "anonymous" as user and your email address as the password]
  cd to /pub/scd/haley
get ctrans.linux.32

Make this file executable and put in $NCARG_ROOT/bin:

  chmod gou+x ctrans.linux.32
mv ctrans.linux.32 $NCARG_ROOT/bin/.

You can call it whatever you want. Then, try using this instead of
"ctrans".
