plotting vertical sections in sigma/eta coordinates

    I would like to plot CAM model data using the raw eta coordinate data.
    each column has 26 boxes with the vertical bounds determined by the
    hybi and hyai values and the surface pressure.
    The coordinates of these boxes vary in time and space since surface
    pressure does.
    I have used other software (GMT) to produce time/pressure plots using
    polygon fills, the color keyed to the value in the box.

    Is there an example of such a plot using NCL? I do not want to
    interpolate, I want to see the raw values on the actual grid.
