Changing precipitation units using NCL

Hi everyone

I have 2 precip datasets with different units. One dataset has units of
mm day-1 while the 2nd has units of kg m-2 s-1.

As part of the process to change from kg m-2 s-1 to units of mm day-1 I
divide by the density of water at 4oC (1000 kg m-3). However this
appears to give incorrect values.

I am presuming that water density variations with air temperature is the
problem, but it may lie elsewhere.

Does anyone have code (or pseudo code) that will correctly change my
units???

Many thanks for any assistance,

Maurice
