reading dimensions from a netcdf

Hi

how do I read the array dimensions from netcdf file?

rhythm:/home/lmcd/NARCCAP> ncdump -h air.2m.gauss.1979.nc
netcdf air.2m.gauss.1979 {
dimensions:
        lon = 192 ;
        lat = 94 ;
        level = 1 ;
