Collapsing Panel Plot Space

I have a number of plots in a panel but I want to completely collapse
the space between them i.e. so that the RHS y axis of one plot becomes
the LHS y axis of another and similarly with top and bottom x axes. I
have tried using the gsnPanelXWhiteSpacePercent resource but this does
not seem to achieve the result.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
