Help: how to set "nwt" in function filwgts_lancos

Hi,
     I have a problem about bout how to set the value of "nwt" in funcion: filwgts_lancos.
     If I want do 10-20 day band-pass on a daily time series , can I set nwt to 10000 or more.
In another words ,I want to know if I can set nwt to big enough to get a ideal response .
     Maybe this is a question about the lanszos filter itself. But , I still try to get some help.
