malloc error - memory error

Dear NCL World,
I ran into an error (malloc) that I do not understand. Is this error
related to running out of memory?
i am using an Intel Mac Quad-Core with Leopard (64-bit) and 4 GB of
memory, in case that matters.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
