rcm2rgrid question

Good afternoon,

I am using the function rcm2rgrid to interpolate MM5 fields (lambert
conformat projection) to a regular lat/lon grid. I am trying to mask out
the land points (x = mask(x,land.eq.0,True) to use only ocean values in
the interpolation. The documentation of the rcm2rgrid function says "No
extrapolation is performed beyond the range of the input coordinates.
missing values are allowed but ignored." What does this actually mean?
That if a lat/lon grid point is not surrounded by 4 rcm points no
interpolation will be performed or that the interpolation will be
performed with only the non-missing points? BTW, what kind of
interpolation is being performed?

Help is always appreciated!
Andrea
