Can NCL read data from HDF-EOS5 format files?

Hello,

I am new to NCL. I am trying to access data in HDF-EOS5 format, which
can be found at
http://disc.sci.gsfc.nasa.gov/data/datapool/MLS/Level2.002/ML2O3/. The
file extension is "he5". The manual says NCL supports HDF4-EOS format.
When I tried to open *.he5 file, it does not work. Is there any way to
access *.he5 files by NCL?
