ncargex compile error

Hi, all

I'm using NCAR Command Language Version 5.0.1-beta in my Ubuntu x86_64, and
the gcc/gfortran version is gcc version 4.3.2 (Ubuntu 4.3.2-1ubuntu11).

When I was trying to compile ncarg examples, eg. ncargex shex01, it
reported an
error "pcfopn.f:(.text+0x27c): undefined reference to
`_gfortran_copy_string'
pcfopn.f:(.text+0x2a4): undefined reference to `_gfortran_copy_string'
" or so.

Does anybody know how to fix this problem?

BTW. the ncl 5.0.1-beta in my i386 system with gfortran 4.3 also
reported such
problems.
