Re: object reference for strings using gsn_scm_contour_xxx

Perhaps I am not seeing why you are doing this, but couldn't you just do
this:

res1_at_gsnDraw = True
res1_at_gsnFrame = True

month = (/"Jan","Feb","Mar","Apr","May","Jun",\
            "Jul","Aug","Sep","Oct","Nov","Dec"/)
nmonth = 12
do imonth = 0,nmonth-1
    res1_at_gsnRightString = month(imonth)
    plot1 = gsn_csm_contour_map(xwks,tmp(imonth,:,:),res1)
end do
