Isentropic levels

Hi, I want to interpolates a variable to isentropic levels, but I can't understand the hyam/hybm in isent_1.ncl from the web
http://www.ncl.ucar.edu/Applications/isent.shtml.%c2%a0
What are  hyam and hybm in the data  (atmos.nc) ?
