You should be able to plot this by setting the plot resource

res_at_trGridType = "TriangularMesh"

and setting the variable attributes lat2d and lon2d before plotting, i.e.

pcp_at_lat2d = yc
pcp_at_lon2d = xc

Then you should be able to plot using any of the gsn_csm map plot functions.
