boundaries of a sub-region

Hello,

I have a variable PCP (time, yc, xc) with corresponding latitude and
longitude lat2d(yc, xc) and lon2d(yc, xc) for entire North America. I also
have another file with latitudes and longitudes of the boundaries of a
sub-region. How do I extract the PCP for that sub-region?
