Hi Michel,

This is just to answer your question about why some of the plots are
rotated.

If you set the gsnMaximize resource to True, then NCL will try to
maximize the size of your plot on the page. If this means rotating the
plot so it will better cover the page, then it will do so.

Jamie's suggestion about setting the gsnPaperOrientation resource to
"portrait" should work.
