Confuse about the climatology function

Hi, Guys,
     I try to use climatology function provided by ncl system to calculate
climate average. Take function
month_to_season for example ,if my data (named aa) covers 180 months
starting from 1985 Jan to 1999 Dec (/180,5,100,100), after I run this
function(pp=month_to_season(aa,"DJF"), I got the dimension size of
(/15, 5, 100,100/), I'm confused what the first month in this result. ,
actually we should have 14 DJF inside instead of 15,what do you think about
that? Also, for function clmMonTLLL, if my data start from 1984 Sep,
what's the first month should be in result? (pp=clmMonTLLL(aa))?
