WRF U V true winds

Hi,

I am wanting the wind vectors from WRF 10-m and upper air winds
(U10/V10/U/V). I am using gsn_csm_vector_map to plot the wind from the u/v
components. However, these is something suspicious in that they all seem to
be pointing toward rotational or divergent flow centered at the pole? How
would I attain the true u and v wind components so as to correct for the map
projection effects?
