how to calculate seasonal means

Dear NCL users

I am using NCEP/DOE AMIP-II Reanalysis wind data and I would like to
calculate seasonal means from 1998 to 2004 of wind speed. The data files are
separated by years, and, 2 files per year (one for component u and another
for v)
Can anyone help me how to do it?
