Projecting shape defined with lat, lon coorinates to CE coordinates

Dear NCL users,

I have polygons defined in lat, lon coordinate arrays that I need to project into a CE projection whereupon those polygons will become distorted.

How do I translate my lat, lon coordinates to their corresponding lat,lon coordinates in a CE projection system?

Note: overlaying the polygons on top of a CE map is what I have been doing, and after some thought I have decided that this is not what is required as the shapes are not being projected onto the 3-dimensional surface of the Earth.
