Feng,

There's not enough information to tell what the problem might be.

What version of NCL are you running? (ncl -V)

Do you get any other error messages?

Is it quitting on the wrf_cape_2d line for certain? Would you put in some "print" statements to verify where it seg faults, and see whether it does it the first time in the loop?
