extract the value for sub-regions

I have a variable pr(time, yc, xc) where yc=130 and xc=193 and corresponding lat(yc,xc) and lon(yc,xc). I have also have latitude and longitude of the boundaries of 34 sub-regions. I would like to estimate pr for each sub-region

For example: If I have pr(time, yc, xc) , lat(yc,xc) and lon(yc,xc) and boundaries of sub-region 1: lat1(70) and lon1(70)

Now I would like to create a new variable for sub-region1 with same dimension of input "prsub1(time,yc,xc)" which has only values for those grids, lie in and alone the boundaries of the sub-region1 and rest of the values are missing. Is it possible in NCL
