clarification on missing value behaviour of 'linint1()'

Hi

I am using the linint1 function to regrid data from an ocean model with a time and space varying depth grid, to a fixed depth grid.

For many of the data points i get the error message

'warning:linint1: xi and xo must be monotonically increasing'

even though I know that both the input and output grids are monotonically increasing. I suspect that this is because being an ocean model, there are a lot of missing values in the input depth grid, and the function doesn't look for missing values. Could anyone confirm whether or not this is the case?

Many thanks

Will
