You can indeed use array_append_record to do this. but you will have to reorder the arrays X1 and X2 so that the dimension that you area concatenating (which I assume is time) are the leftmost (i.e. first) dimensions (and of course, all other dimension sizes must match.

Hope that helps

Subject: merging a multi-dimensional array

Hi NCL,

I have two arrays X1(rcp, ensemble, time1, lat, lon) and X2(rcp, ensemble, time2, lat, lon).

I want to append X2 to X1. I don't think I can use array_append_record.
Is there a way to do this?

Thanks,
Noel
