normalized histogram (pdf)

Hi all,

I am trying to plot several histograms with normalised frequencies in the
plot. However, I have noticed that the official example 2 on
http://www.ncl.ucar.edu/Applications/pdf.shtml doesn't plot them with their
integrals = 100% (the area under the curve). Instead, it seems that the
pdfx function calculates the distribution such that the sum of the
bin-probabilities = 100%.
Is there a way I can plot multiple pdfs on a plot AND have their areas
conserved??
