I have no experience with "Daymet" tiled data.

My guess is that you will have to regrid *each* 2x2 tile with 1km data
onto a 'mega grid' at 4km. Given the nature of the data. I would
suggest that ESMF' conservative method be used.

This will mean many regrid weight files.
