spcorr and escorc

Hi,
I computed a cross-correlation ( at lag 0) using escorc function of two 3D
(timexlatxlon) fields. I then took out two time series (at specific
location) from the 3D fields and computed the Pearson correlation
coefficient using spcorr function. The values from escorc and spcorr
functions do not match; but they should be equal! I could not find out why
this happens. Any ideas?
