Try using the wmsetp() procedure (probably >wmsetp("UNT",1) ), as described in the wmstnm() function 'Description':

Hope that helps

Subject: [ncl-talk] question about function wmstnm

Hi,
I found the default option of function wmstnm is imperial units in ncl, do you have the option of metric units?
  Thanks!
