how to plot contour for ungridded fields

Dear NCL users,
Could anyone tell me if NCL can do a contour for ungridded fields?
Namely, for example, I have ,say, the lat and lon and the temp in a 2-dimensinal domain.
The points are distributed in a way that their lat or lon change without any order.
Can NCL plot the contour of the temperature on the basis of the above lat and lon information?
I did some online search and failed to find the solution.
Your help is appreciated.
