ncl_filedump is a quick and easy way to query what variables are in the files. As for plotting, there are many examples on the NCL page (http://www.ncl.ucar.edu/Applications/) for simple plotting scripts. Most of them could be used to point to Grib data.

Hi NCL-TEAM,

Is there any function or executable program for quick looking variables in a grib2 file,
whose function is similar as the "ncview" to display variables in a netcdf file.

Thanks.
