Thank you for your response.
I am talking about MJO skill. I used NCL to remove time mean and first
three harmonics from NCEP/NCAR u200, u850 and precipitation data. Then i
used MATLAB to remove the last 120 days mean from this data and combined
all three field to calculate EOF.
Now to calculate skill i need to remove the seasonal cycle and last 120
days mean from forecast data. The seasonal cycle removal step in forecast
data is straight forward but the remove of inter-annual variability related
to last 120 days mean is quite complicated. So i need help regarding that
part. People usually use observation 120 days mean to remove it from first
day of forecast data and as lead day increase, they include previous one
day of forecast and remaining days of observation to obtain mean and remove
it from that lead day. The whole procedure is explain in detail in one
paper "Forecast skill of MJO in two Canadian Models"
So i need help in this issue.
