i am going to answer your first question.

we have the ability to plot two separate curves with unique axis which is
what I think you are asking for here.

take a look at

example 11.

this is for two separate y-axis, but the process is convertable to the
x-axis.

as for your third question, do you get a viable shared object? Do you have
a main subroutine and other subroutines in other files? We need a little more
detail here.
