    Hi Bert,

    Any time there is no public response to a particular NCL question, it
    probably means there was only a private response. The HLU library is
    not part of NCL, but I could provide you with a precompiled version of
    it. Email me separately and include the system you have (I assume it's
    RedHat 9), along with the compiler and the version of the compiler you
    are using.
