    Hi everybody,

Adam Phillips has created a new NCL applications page that shows the
various ways you can control the appearance of tickmarks and the X/Y
axes. (There are about 200 resources for tickmarks alone, amounting to
    40-50 resources per axis.)

    The URL is:

          http://www.ncl.ucar.edu/Applications/tickmarks.shtml

There are seven examples on this page showing how to explicitly set
your tickmarks and/or labels, remove various axis borders, tickmarks,
and labels, change the format and precision of tickmark labels, change
the position and color of labels, create different tickmarks on
parallel axes, and create log and reverse axes.

Example 4 alone is worthy of a visit, because it shows the various
different ways you can format your tickmark labels, an area that many
    users (including myself) struggle with.

This has been a long-needed page, and I'm grateful to Adam for finding
the time to work on it!

    --Mary
