Dear Tinghai,

There could be a number of things wrong. It would be helpful if you
could email me (haley_at_ucar.edu) the exact error message you are
getting when you run ncl.

However, before you email me, here are some things to check for: it
is important that you set your DISPLAY environment variable as
described at:

     http://www.ncl.ucar.edu/Download/cygwin.shtml#SetUpDisplay

Also, make sure you are running a Cygwin/X window, and not just a
Cygwin window. This information is available at:

     http://x.cygwin.com/docs/ug/using.html

If none of these help, then please email me the error message.
