Hi,

I am having problems compiling using WRAPIT. The code compiled and
worked on my old linux computer, but will not on the one I am using now
- looks like a WRAPIT needs to be compiled using -fPIC. Here's the
output I receive:
$ WRAPIT calc_climate_fort_utils.f
WRAPIT Version: 042606
/usr/bin/g77
COMPILING calc_climate_fort_utils.f
LINKING
/usr/bin/ld: WRAPIT.o: relocation R_X86_64_32 against `a local symbol'
can not be used when making a shared object; recompile with -fPIC
WRAPIT.o: could not read symbols: Bad value
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
END WRAPIT

A similar error was reported on Mar 6, 2006 in ncl-talk, but no solution
was posted. The version of ncl I am using is 4.2.0.a033.Linux_x86_64 on
an X86_64 machine running fedora 5. If anyone has a solution to this
error, please let me know.

Thank you,

Melissa
