Dear NCL Users,
I'm very pleased to announce that a new version of NCL (V4.3.0) is now
available for download on the ESG (www.earthsystemgrid.org) website.
This is a pretty major release as it contains support for reading
GRIB2 files as well as a number of other features and bug fixes:
- Updates to GRIB1 reader (important to know about)
- New and long-requested "where" function
- Two-dimensional forward/backward Fourier transform routines
- Two cumulative sum routines
- New graphics routines "gsn_contour_shade" and "gsn_table"
- Twelve new color tables
A full description of the new features and functionality in version
4.3.0 can be found at:
http://www.ncl.ucar.edu/new_release.shtml
Support for reading GRIB2 files is included in the "addfile" and
"addfiles" functions and the "ncl_grib2nc" and "ncl_filedump"
applications. Since this is a new format, we will especially be
interested in hearing about your experiences with NCL's GRIB2
reader. Don't hesitate to email me if you have any questions or
problems.
