Hi all!
I've got some ensemble output from the COSMO model in the grib format
(see example file
https://twiki.cscs.ch/twiki/bin/viewfile/Main/OliverFuhrerDownloads?rev=
1;filename=p_RRRS48h_066) which contains 4 grib records. The grid
records contain the probability to exceed a certain precipitation
threshold. The 4 records correspond to 4 different thresholds. The
thresholds are coded in the local section of the grib record. If I open
the file, NCL simply finds one record...
float TPP_GDS10_SFC_acc48h ( g10_x_0, g10_y_1 )
center : Rome (RSMC)
long_name : Total precipitation probability
units : %
_FillValue : 1e+20
coordinates : g10_lat_0 g10_lon_1
level_indicator : 1
gds_grid_type : 10
parameter_table_version : 131
parameter_number : 228
forecast_time : 66
forecast_time_units : hours
initial_time : 08/06/2007 (12:00)
...which is probably either the first or last of the 4 in the file. I
suppose this is natural, since the records are EXACTLY alike except for
the values they contain and the local section.
1) Is there any way to convince NCL to give me access to all 4 records?
2) Where would I have to modify NCL to code to make it understand our
local section and introduce attributes such as ensemble members or
threshold values to distinguish fields?
Thanks for your help,
Oliver
