extract nth value

Hello,

Is there any function in NCL which use to extract alternative or 5th
or 10th (nth) values of a series.

For example:
X=(/2,5,7,8,2,5,7,0,10,34,45/)

I would like to extract 3rd value of above sries i.e. Y=(/7,5,10/)
