eof question

Hi,
probably a dumb question, but is multiplication by mln necessary?

   sumWgt = mln*sum( clat({lat|latS:latN}) )
in the script

I am finding that my y-axis values appear to have the correct y-axis
values (the underlying units of the quantity on which the EOF is being
formed) without it.
