What does the

   printVarSummary(data)

indicate *before* you mangle the data?

Why not use

   bbb=dim_avg_Wrap(data)
   printVarSummary(bbb)

then
     iNH = ind(bbb&lat.ge.0)
     plot(1) = gsn_csm_xy (wks, bbb&lat(iNH:), bbb(iNH:), zres)
