relative humidity

Dear All,

I am now trying to calculate the relative humidity from the output of SAM
model (one kind of cloud resolving model). I found there were two functions
in NCL, 'relhum' and 'wrf_hm'. I found the results from them were the same
below 500mb, but were quite different above 500mb. Does anyone know the
difference between these two functions? Or which one is more appropriate in
my case? Thank you!
