plotting in polar coordinates

    Hi all,

    For those of you who would like to plot in polar coordinates a
    simple fix is to simply use the Polar Stereographic projection,
    and when creating the contour object map the X-coordinate to
    the azimuth angle while the Y-coordinate should be mapped to
    the radius. Similar effects could be obtained (with slight
    rescaling in the radial) using Lambert or Orthographic projections.

    The conclusion is that even as it stands right now NCL can mimick
    polar coordinate plotting. Of course a more profesional and
    permanent fix of this problem will be very welcome in the future.
