Hi Alex,

Glad to hear you're making progess!

This will be WRFSI-dependent. Those folks can support this for you.
Sounds like you have this resolved now.

As I mentioned to you earlier, v4.2.1 of NCAR Graphics is an older
version; the current version is v4.4.2. You can obtain the latest
version of NCAR Graphics in one of two ways:
     1. via the NCAR Graphics download site:
http://ngwww.ucar.edu/ng4.4/download.html
     2. as part of the NCL release: http://www.ncl.ucar.edu/Download/
this will require registration in order to complete
downloads from the Earth System Grid site
You can complete both options #1 and #2 (in that order) and follow the
installation instructions for both and all should be fine. It may be
easier to simply complete option #2 as a faster way to ensure the most
up-to-date version of both NCAR Graphics and NCL.

File sizes are different because things have changed from older
versions of the software (such as v4.2.1) to newer versions (such as
v4.4.2). In general, things seem to get bigger as they get better.
:-)
As Mary noted earlier, it is both acceptable and preferable to install
NCAR Graphics and NCL into the same directory tree: under the directory
you set for $NCARG_ROOT. The NCARG_ROOT environment variable
represents the root location for both NCAR Graphics and NCL install
trees, as both share libraries, files, tools and the like.
Please don't hesitate to contact us if you require further assistance.
