Why I can not use a new function after undating my version0.32 to 0.34?

Hi,

I've just updated my NCL(version0.32 to version0.34) by decompressing the installing files of version 0.34
to the install directory of version 0.32, without changing any Enviroment variable setting. But I find a new
function named " month_to_annual" didn't work with a instrction given by ncl " fatal:Undefined identifier: (month_to_annual) is undefined, can't continue ".

My version 0.34 installing file is ncl-4.2.0.a034.Linux_i686_gcc3.tar
My version 0.32 installing file is ncl-4.2.0.a032.Linux_RH9_PC.tar.gz
My pc is a small dell Poweredge with a redhat system.
