No ... LOG is fine.

Also, since the interpolation is between adjacent layers,
the interpolation differences are not large.

For the record, vinth2p and vinth2p_ecmwf are directly
from the original 'CCM Processor'. The CCM Processor
was discontinued due to lack of portability and flexibility.
NCL has several functions directly from the original
processor.
