I am waiting for v...35 to be released shortly before trying any
reinstallation as I look forward to making use of grb2. It is somewhat
encouraging to see others arrive at the same conclusion as I (that the
problem seems to lie in the installation somewhere). I wish however that I
could track down where exactly the problem lies in the installation.

Concerning items (b) and (c) in your previous email: I agree. The map
bounds (b) I set to full as I wanted to see the full data set, but wanted
to keep the code for the limits in my script as a reminder to change them
to being more restrictive once I got my bugs worked out. The lat / lon
code note that you provided in (c) is encouraging and is how I thought NCL
should behave. If my memory serves me correctly, when I ran the script as
you suggested I got warnings about missing units and such (I am away from
my NCL machine today, returning tomorrow), prompting me to try the code
that is present to both fix the warnings and see if that fixed the 'noise'
issue. It succeeded in the first, but not the latter. Lastly, I will use
the .hluresfile.

I welcome any further thoughts concerning what I could check prior to any
reinstallation efforts.
