FWIW, I found it necessary on our RHEL 5 Redhat compute clusters to
make the following changes to the config/LINUX script to make NCAR
compile completely (sans NCL) and correctly:
#define FCompiler gfortran
#define CtoFLibraries -lgcc -lm -lgfortran
This is instead of the old -lg2c fix that others have mentioned.
rcook_at_prism1 (movies): uname -a
Linux prism1 2.6.18-29chaos #1 SMP Wed Mar 19 12:50:00 EDT 2008
x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
(chaos is our internal build of RHEL 5 -- ymmv)
