where is the color "transparent"?

Dear everyone,

I tried to use the named color "transparent" listed in the following website,
http://www.ncl.ucar.edu/Document/Graphics/named_colors.shtml

However, there was a warning message,

warning:CvtStringGenArrayToCmap:Unable to find rgb of "transparent", using white

It seems that the color "transparent" doesn't exist, why?
