How to use function cdfbin_p(s,xn,pr)

Hi, Ncl-talk group,
     Does any one know how to use cdfbin_p or other function (maybe pdfx) to
calculate exceedence probability ? I don't know what Pr means in cdfbin_p (
http://www.ncl.ucar.edu/Document/Functions/Built-in/cdfbin_p.shtml). Do I
need to choose a "Pr" myself when calculating it? I'd better have a little
complicated case, the one in the website is too easy and hard to understand.
