How vinth2p handle missing value?

Hi,
I use vinth2p to interpolate CAM data to prescribed pressure level.
Missing value existed in my data, I set -999 as the @Fillvalue. I wonder
how vinth2p process the interpolation when missing value encountered?

When I do vinth2p, the @Fillvalue -999 looks like taking part in the
interpolation.
Is anybody having the similar problem or any solution to this?
